Michelin-Coached Robot Chefs Are Coming to Take Over Your Kitchen

Your guests will probably thank you

Unless you have an unmarked van and a willingness to do hard time on kidnapping charges, the odds of you getting a Michelin-starred chef to make dinner in your kitchen aren’t high.

And while going up the river might be worth it to enjoy one of Srijith Gopinathan’s Lamb Naanwiches in the privacy of your own home, an easier way to bring Michelin-level cuisine to your kitchen has arrived.

Moley Robotics (whom we first covered last year, when a mysterious video of theirs surfaced), is ready to bring their fully-automated and integrated intelligent cooking system — i.e., robot chef — to market. They’re currently raising funds on Seedrs should you want a piece of the action.

Moley’s flagship product uses a pre-installed set of intelligent mechanical arms to prepare high-end meals at your home. Capable of learning restaurant-quality and family recipes from an online database, the robotic arms mimic the moves of MasterChef winner Tim Anderson during the food preparation process but also clean up after themselves and wash dishes once all the cooking is done.

Owners can control the Robotic Kitchen remotely using a smartphone to have a hot meal ready when they walk through the door, and the system can also be operated via touchscreen. With their Seedrs campaign, Moley is hoping to raise more than $1.2 million to build a complete RK system, and the company plans to have the finished unit up and running in Europe by 2018.

Go go gadget arms.
