From personal trainers and movement specialists to masseuses and a mental coach, Russell Wilson has a lot of people on his personal payroll.
That’s because the Seattle Seahawks quarterback wants to play NFL football until he’s 45 —an age which another quarterback you may have heard of has mentioned aspiring to play.
In addition to his aforementioned personal health team, Wilson also has a personal chef, Angela Day, to help him gameplan.
To keep the seventh-year pro in game-day shape even during the offseason, Day mainly feeds him a balance of protein and carbs and attempts to have him eat nutrition-rich organic foods as much as possible.
Typically, that’ll look like oatmeal and almond butter for breakfast, chicken, rice and a green vegetable for lunch, and then salmon or steak or chicken and vegetables for dinner. Snacks consist of protein shakes and fruits.
Wilson also drinks “tons and tons of water” and tries to avoid sugars as much as he can.
Obviously, Wilson also works out.
“I lift three times a week during the season,” he told GQ. “But I make my body move in some way every single day. Swimming is a big part of it, and working to be as mobile as possible. It’s important for me to make sure my trunk is moving right. And I can’t forget the Peloton bike. It’s me and Ciara’s favorite thing. I also do a lot of boxing, heavy deadlifts, box jumps, explosive medicine ball tosses, and a ton of agility work. Shoulder exercises, too, to keep my arm as strong as it could possibly be so I can throw the ball further.”
