Following the Patriots’ Super Bowl LII loss to the Eagles, Tom Brady reaffirmed his expectation of playing next year, while Rob Gronkowski was not as resolute, according to ESPN. “I expect to be back, but we’ll see,” Brady said shortly after walking off the field at US Bank Stadium. Brady has in the past spoken about his plans to play through his mid-40s. Gronkowski told reporters that he was not prepared for questions about his future, and said, “I am going to sit down the next couple weeks and see where I am at.” Gronkowski, though only 28, has had an injury-riddled career, most recently suffering a concussion that nearly kept him out of the Super Bowl. The tight end’s health history makes retirement a possibility.
