Just weeks after the company revealed he had Lymphoma, Nordstrom co-president Blake Nordstrom has passed away.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Blake Nordstrom,” the retailer said in a statement.
“My heart goes out to the Nordstrom family and everyone at the company during this difficult time,” chairman Brad Smith said. “Everyone who worked with Blake knew of his passion and deep commitment to employees, customers and the communities we serve.”
Pete and Erik Nordstrom will continue to serve as executive leaders for the company, CNN Business reports.
Nordstrom worked his way up through the Seattle-based department store becoming vice president and then co-president.
Nordstrom currently operates across 40 US states and in Canada, employing more than 70,000 people.
