One reason we love Huckberry — the outlet does a fantastic job of connecting American consumers with family-owned brands across the pond. Hestra is a prefect example. Run by fourth-generation Swedish glove cutters, the brand makes some of the best leather gloves in the world. Traditional, handmade glove cutting is an endangered art (there are less than a 100 such tradesmen and tradeswomen across the globe), but Hestra still does it faithfully, and operates every stage of the production, from the tannery to the hand-sewing.

The results are elk cuts lined with fleece, ski gloves armored in goat leather, and deerskin numbers with water-resistant interiors. They even make a pair of wool, “half finger” gloves. The single issue with Hestra being on Huckberry, though, is people go bonkers for these styles and all the mediums and larges are gone a week before Christmas Eve. So we recommend being proactive, whether it’s a gift for someone else or yourself. They’re so well made, you’ll never have to make the effort again. Below, see a couple of our favorites from this year’s line.
