The Culinary Equivalent of a Led Zeppelin Reunion Is Coming to NYC

Four of the world’s best chefs will gather for one night only

November 13, 2018 9:00 am

You know that one friend who keeps an Excel spreadsheet with all the Michelin-starred and Beard-awarded restaurants they plan on visiting some day?

Well call that person stat, because this oughta kill four entries with one spoon.

Once Upon A Kitchen will bring the entire podium from the 2018 World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards into the same kitchen in NYC for one night only.

No need to jump flights to Italy, Spain and France for such a privilege: master chefs Massimo Bottura, Joan Roca and Mauro Colagreco will join Christina Tosi — the owner, chef and James Beard Award winner behind New York’s Milk Bar — this December 5th at Gotham Hall. Reserve your seat here, stat.

If chefs are the new rock stars, this is the equivalent to a Led Zeppelin reunion — and tickets are priced to match, with seats ranging from $1,500 for the Silver level to $5,000 for a Platinum VIP experience that includes meet-and-greets with the chefs.

To help wet your whistle, here’s a little taste of the gastronomical excellence in store.

Massimo Bottura, Osteria Francescana, Ranked #1 in the world
Internationally famed Bottura’s three-Michelin-star restaurant was first awarded the top slot on the 50 Best list in 2016, and came back to take first place once more at this year’s event. Italian history, philosophy and creativity all culminate in Bottura’s heritage-fueled dishes.

Joan Roca, El Celler de Can Roca, Ranked #2 in the world
Roca’s Spanish El Celler has twice been named the world’s best, in addition to holding down three Michelin stars since ‘09. His cuisine is lively yet traditional, wedding modern techniques with old-school Mediterranean flavors and recipes.

Mauro Colagreco, Mirazur, Ranked #3 in the world
A master at melding surf and turf, Colagreco’s Mirazur is appropriately nestled in Menton, a Côte d’Azur hamlet that sits between the mountains and the sea. His cuisine is difficult to categorize, though there is an emphasis on simple recipes and raw, pure ingredients.

Christina Tosi, Milk Bar, a two-time James Beard Award winner recently featured on Netflix’s Chef’s Table: Pastry
The founder and CEO of local institution Milk Bar, Tosi is a two-time James Beard Award winner and responsible for the irresistible Crack Pie that calls out to us from afar in the middle of the night. She is also the author of three cookbooks, Momofuku Milk Bar, Milk Bar Life and the recently released Milk Bar: All About Cake.
