Let’s destroy your willpower.
From the makers of cooking app SideChef, CHiP is a mini convection oven that allows you to bake fresh cookies in less than 10 minutes.
“I have something for this. It’s called an actual oven,” you say. Correct. But think of CHiP as more of an ideal dorm or office mate — not a replacement for your perfectly functional stove.
With CHiP, you can either utilize K-Cup like cookie pods or, more realistically, use your own dough; the device will adjust baking times accordingly. The wifi-enabled stove also delivers messages and videos (“cookie grams”) via an integrated app when the cookies are ready, which sounds like it could get passive aggressive pretty quickly. (Incoming cookie gram: “Welcome to Doesn’t Have a Cookie, Population You.”)
The initial line of cookie pods includes staples like sea salt chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin, as well as outliers like a “superfood” breakfast bar and savory cheddar bacon biscuits, as well as gluten-free and vegan options. A subscription option is available for the pods.
While it’s a little bulky, the device promises little cleanup — the internal tray is dishwasher safe.
CHiP is available for preorder on Kickstarter for $99 (MSRP $249).
