As the Patriots head off to yet another Super Bowl, conspiracy theorists are saying that the league is rigged in favor of the Patriots. There are those who say the refs don’t call penalties on the Patriots, or point out that game official Clete Blakeman excitedly congratulated Tom Brady after the Patriots beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

But the reason that Pats keep winning is not because of the refs getting paid off or because the media is looking the other way. Mike Freeman breaks down a few of the main conspiracy theories to prove that the Patriots are going to another Super Bowl because they’re just that good.

Refs aren’t calling penalities

Freeman writes that it would be impossible to rig a game that has replays and so many eyeballs watching every game.

Media looks the other way

The media dislikes the Patriots because they have been known to be hostile to reporters.
