Raiders Nation may be embroiled in an international incident.

As if Oakland football fans didn’t have enough reasons to be bitter towards their once-beloved Raiders, there is a new report that the team is mulling playing next season in London ahead of its planned 2020 move to Las Vegas.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported on Sunday that, “London is now an option for the Raiders; it’s being discussed for them to play next year.

“They’re still trying to figure it out. Other owners have brought it up to the Raiders, the Raiders are discussing it.”

Oakland’s loss, however, may be the NFL’s gain, giving the league a chance to test the viability of introducing a more permanent expansion plan to tap the England market. Over the past few years, London has been a successful host of games.

Travel would be a major issue for the Raiders and their AFC West rivals, so a split season might be a more likely scenario, according to The Washington Post.
