This weekend was a big one for NFL draft prospects, as hundreds tried to leave their mark in the scouting combine. According to a new column by Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, the viability of UCLA’s Josh Rosen as a leader was a source of great debate in Indianapolis. The outspoken quarterback has been criticized for his affluent upbringing, for speaking out against Trump, and for failing to earn the respect of his teammates. But Rosen impressed teams in Indianapolis, throwing gracefully in drills and performing well in team interviews. According to King, the noise surrounding Rosen has obscured much of his potential in the NFL. Where Rosen lands in the draft is up for debate, unlike the question of the draft’s best player. That title belongs to running back Saquon Barkley, who cemented his superstar status at the combine.
