Meet the Quarterback Prospect Who Chose Princeton Over Alabama

In one of college football’s greatest off-field upsets, Princeton beat out Alabama for a prospect, senior quarterback Brevin White. A new article in the Wall Street Journal tells White’s story, who committed to Princeton last July but was forced to reevaluate when Nick Saban came calling. “I want to have a roommate that’s smarter than me,” White explained of his Princeton decision to the Wall Street Journal. Though White’s snubbing is unlikely to have any real effect on Alabama’s position as the most powerful college football program in the country, the move marks a change in thinking for top high school quarterbacks, who know that NFL teams are no longer limiting their scouting to the biggest schools in the country.
