Steve Carell Returns To TV With Netflix’s New ‘Space Force’ Show
"The Office" showrunner Greg Daniels is also on board.
Steve Carell is returning to TV “soon” with his new Netflix series called Space Force.
The show, for which Carell is reportedly making a record-breaking salary, is a workplace comedy following the lives of employees at NASA’s fictional “Space Force” military branch.
Space Force will focus on the people who are tasked with making Trump’s big space dreams come true, Mashable reports, and is co-run by both Carell and The Office showrunner Greg Daniels.
Trump previously announced he was interested in creating a new branch of U.S. military: “My new national strategy for space recognizes that space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air and sea,” he told military members in a crowd last year at an air station in San Diego. “We may even have a Space Force.”
This will be Carell’s first big TV gig since 2011 when he wrapped up his iconic role as buffoon boss Michael Scott on the hit NBC show The Office.
The beloved actor has recently starred in the films Beautiful Boy, Welcome to Marwen, and the Despicable Me movies.
