Jeff Goldblum has been an object of fan affection for decades, but the last several years in particular have raised his style profile to new heights. In a new video, Vanity Fair asks Goldblum to explain the evolution of his wardrobe, from the days of The Big Chill to his current Thor: Ragnarok era.

As Goldblum explained to Vanity Fair, the 2010s have been about leather jackets and pinky rings. He compared his hair to “a blue wave of some kind, the likes of which is coming in the midterm elections.”

The man behind the leather jackets and pinky rings is Goldblum’s stylist Andrew T. Vottero. In the video, Goldblum recalls a time not too many decades ago when neither he nor most of Hollywood had stylists. “That’s proliferated like running shoes and yogurts and stuff like that. But I’ve always been susceptible to that last person I talked to,” Goldblum told Vanity Fair.
