His name is Zeus and he vows to protect you

We’ve made our position on life-sized robots abundantly clear: please stop making these backflipping death machines.

But those conditions don’t necessarily apply to tiny robots. After all, who wouldn’t want to take home Pilot Labs’ Moorebot Zeus Battle Robot?

A Japanese-made, 21st-century heir to Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em, Zeus is a 14-inch, $1,600 toy that looks like a robo-Ivan Drago and dodges like Ali.

First seen at CES earlier this year, Zeus might be small, but it’s able to pack quite a wallop, with a reported 25-kg punch strength. For an additional $100, the robot will arrive pre-assembled, and all models come with a wireless controller and charger (Zeus can fight for about 50 minutes on one charge).

Despite the steep price tag, we can’t help but feel smitten with the little trooper. Convince a friend to buy one and invite the guys over for a fight night. Prop bets encouraged.

Best of all? It’s now on Amazon. Pick up your Zeus here.
