From June 24 to Sept. 25, Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum will present the first major exhibition of works by Golden Age landscape painter Adriaen van de Velde (1636-1672). The artist, who died young, was an expert painter of people and animals; and found fame posthumously. The exhibit will include 60 paintings, preliminary studies, and drawings.
