Yesterday, embattled Philadelphia 76ers president Bryan Colangelo denied that he was operating a slew of anonymous Twitter accounts that slammed 76ers players and defended his sartorial choices. Instead, he said someone was out to get him.
As it turns out, that person may be, possibly inadvertently, his wife Barbara Bottini.
After the initial story about Colangelo and the burner accounts broke, Internet sleuths began poking around the information about the accounts and discovered Bottini has a phone number that shares characteristics with three of the five burner accounts in question.
?????
Colangelo’s wife, Barbara Bottini has a phone number ending in 91, almost certainly linking her to 3 of the burner accounts.

That wasn’t the only piece of evidence that was discovered.
Bryan’s wife, Barbara Bottini, was given an award by their son’s high school, due to her service to the school (which includes helping with the Arts boosters, which connects to the Bonhams name in another account) . who nominated her? two people Eric jr followed. pic.twitter.com/3u4Xoh1qz2

If it does turn out to be Bottini who was behind the accounts, she won’t be the first wife of a sports executive who took to Twitter to anonymously involve herself in her husband’s affairs.
Roger Goodell’s wife did something similar, although that didn’t have the same potential to cost her husband his job.
