An NFL player just set a world record for making one-handed catches — and he wasn’t a wide receiver.
With representatives from Guinness in attendance, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton snagged 51 one-handed passes in a 60-second span during an event at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in July.
Candler Hallow, a member of YouTube star MrBeast‘s crew, was playing quarterback for Newton.
During his record-breaking effort, Newton broke the previous Guinness record 48 one-handed catches in a minute which was held by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry and former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn.
“Let’s just put it like this: I have the best hands in the NFL,” Newton said during his attempt. “You can document that. I have film. I really do have film of me catching passes in an actual game. I didn’t drop one yet … that was catchable.”

Though there are some concerns about Newton’s throwing shoulder following offseason surgery, the 2015 NFL MVP is on track to start Sunday’s opener against the Los Angeles Rams.
