Does a beer a day keep the doctor away? Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is finding out.

The 25-year-old center has changed his diet this offseason and is drinking a beer per day in order to make sure he reaches his daily calorie count.

The two-time All-Star has cut red meat from his diet and is mainly eating fish and vegetables so his personal chef suggested Drummond down a daily brew to reach the requisite amount of calories he needs.

But, despite having all the craft brew options in the world at his fingertips, Drummond has been sticking with Miller Lites and Coronas because that’s what his chef picked up at the store.

“If you do it the right way, it’s actually not bad for you and that’s why I’m doing it,” Drummond told the Detroit Free Press.

Listed at 279 pounds, Drummond is the third-heaviest player in the league behind Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson and Dallas’ Boban Marjanovic.

An old-school big man who doesn’t shoot 3-pointers (yet), Drummond averaged 17.3 points and 15.6 rebounds in 79 games for the Pistons last year.
