Months after blowing through a pair of Nikes, Zion Williamson will be getting paid handsomely to wear ’em.
On Tuesday, the NBA’s No. 1 overall pick announced he had inked a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand.
“I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,” Williamson said. “Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to, and I really can’t express how happy and excited I am for this journey.”
Williamson, 19, announced the deal on Twitter.

Following the announcement, Jordan Brand called a special meeting on Tuesday morning to announce the signing internally.
“We’re excited to welcome Zion to the Jordan Brand,” said Jordan Brand president Craig Williams. “It’s incredible to watch him play the game with unbridled passion and joy and we look forward to building our relationship with him for many years to come.”
Other young Jordan Brand additions include Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura, WNBA players Asia Durr and Kia Nurse, and NFL rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins of the Washington Redskins.
“Multiple competitor brands had offered the rookie sensation more than $10 million annually in their negotiations, according to industry sources,” ESPN reported.
Though terms of the deal were not disclosed, previous estimates indicated Williamson would probably land an endorsement contract worth $100 million.
