After the Lakers dropped the first game of their opening-round series to the Trail Blazers, Anthony Davis put his team on his back and helped Los Angeles even their series with Portland at a game apiece.

Davis had 31 points and 11 rebounds on 13-of-21 shooting for the Lakers as they bounced back from their Game 1 loss to blowout the Blazers 111-88 in Game 2 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series.

“I just wanted to come out tonight with the mindset tonight to be aggressive and to help my team on both ends of the floor and do whatever I had to do to help the team win,” Davis said.

LeBron James, who led the Lakers in their opening loss, had 10 points, six rebounds, seven assists and six turnovers for the Lakers.

For the Blazers, Damian Lillard finally cooled off and had just 18 points after scoring 34 in the first game. He also dislocated the index finger on his left hand in the third quarter and, though the X-rays were negative, his status for Game 3 is still iffy, according to Portland coach Terry Stotts.

Elsewhere in The Association, Duncan Robinson finished with 24 points on 7-of-8 shooting (all threes) to lead the Heat past the Pacers 109-100 and give Miami a 2-0 series lead, the Rockets collectively drained 19-of-56 three-pointers en route to a 111-98 win over the Thunder and a 2-0 series lead and Giannis Antetokounmpo had 28 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Bucks past the Magic 111-96 to even their series at 1-1.

There are four more games today/tonight as the playoffs roll on.

Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA draft lottery on Thursday night and will have the No. 1 pick. Golden State holds the No. 2 pick, Charlotte got the No. 3 pick and Chicago will pick fourth.
