Both starting quarterbacks in the NFL Championship game this Sunday played under Jeff Fisher. Fisher has already taken credit for the Rams’ 2017 NFC West championship despite the fact that he was not on the sideline at all this season. SB Nation writes that he will probably try to take credit for Sunday’s game as well, since he handpicked both Nick Foles and Case Keenum to lead the Rams at different points. Both players have seen better days since leaving the Rams and Fisher. As Minnesota’s quarterback, Keenum defied the odds and has become an MVP candidate on one of the league’s hottest teams this year. Foles hasn’t been a full-time starter since the 2015 season, but in the last six games with the Philadelphia Eagles, in which he’s thrown 10 passes or more, his teams are 5-1. SB Nation writes that both players are better off without Fisher around. Why? Keenum flourished with an OC who builds to his QBs, not the other way around. Meanwhile, Foles gives teams with powerful defenses just enough to win.
