During an Instagram Live chat with Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony revealed that LeBron James, in addition to being a phenomenal basketball player, is a literal lifesaver.

According to Anthony, during a 2015 Bahamas vacation with James, Wade and Chris Paul, the NBA stars decided to go snorkeling together. After making it all the way to a “little grotto,” Anthony lingered behind as his friends returned to the boat because he was interested in watching barracudas.

A moment later, the current started dragging him away from the boat and into “the middle of the ocean.” Then, luckily for Anthony, James put on his Superman cape.

“It was windy,” Anthony said. “All types of shit was going on through my head, I’ll be honest with you. Then I look up at the boat, and I see ‘Bron jumps off the boat like he’s MacGyver. He jumps off the boat into the water. He was bringing me back with one arm. He’s swimming with the other arm. He’s carrying me in one arm. He saved my life.”

Wade, who won a pair championships playing with James in Miami for the Heat, said it was the most amazing thing he’d ever seen his friend do off of the basketball court.
