For the second time in the past two decades, the Buffalo Bills are headed to the playoffs.

With a 17-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, Buffalo punched their ticket to the postseason for the second time in three seasons under coach Sean McDermott.

Trailing in the fourth quarter, Buffalo scored on two straight possessions and got the game-winning touchdown when quarterback Josh Allen hit tight end Tyler Kroft with a 14-yard pass with 7:55 left to play.

It was a good game for Allen but Buffalo’s defense also played well and had five interceptions during the game, including two by Tre’Davious White.

“(McDermott) preaches playoff caliber and that’s the standard we hold ourselves to,” Allen said after the win. “The goal is to get yourself into the playoffs to have a shot at the Super Bowl.”

This is the first time the Bills have had 10 wins in a season since an 11-5 campaign under coach Wade Phillips in 1999,

It’s safe to say Bills fans are excited Buffalo will be back in the playoffs.

Winners of seven of their last eight games since a 1-4 start, the Steelers fell to 8-6 on the season.

Though they are still in possession of the final playoff spot, Pittsburgh will have to hold off the Tennesee Titans, who also lost yesterday to drop their record to 8-6.

“We will learn from this and move forward to our next opportunity,” said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. “There is scarcity in this business. You only get so many opportunities to state a case for yourself.”
