Plenty of ultra-wealthy people install home theaters in their yachts, but NFL team owner Dan Snyder wanted something that would set his new, 305-foot super yacht “Lady S” apart from the rest. So he had the Dutch builder Feadship install a two-level, 12-seat IMAX theater in it—the first such theater ever installed on a private vessel.

“He wanted an Imax, that was his main request,” Jan-Bart Verkuyl, the chief executive of Feadship’s Royal Van Lent shipyard, told The Guardian. But because the screen was so massive “the vessel had to be built around the Imax.”

Installing the IMAX theater added $3 million to the yacht’s final cost, but Snyder is familiar with spending a lot to get the best. In 1999, he offered up $800 million to buy the NFL’s Washington football team. It continually ranks among the most valuable sports franchises in the world, worth well over $1 billion.

The theater is, of course, far from the only luxury amenity on board the “Lady S.” It also features two 8K HD TVs, a helipad, four VIP suites and facilities for guests to play golf, basketball, volleyball and football.”
