Banksy Sends Environmental Message With New Street Art
The mural is a chilling take on the current state of the environment.
Street artist Banksy seemed to confirm that he was behind a haunting new mural in Port Talbot, Wales, after posting a video of it to his Instagram.
The artist’s new image, painted onto the walls of a garage, is that of a child who appears to be catching snowflakes on his tongue. Set to the tune of “Little Snowflake,” and captioned “Season’s Greetings,” on his social media account, the artwork seems to be holiday-related, HuffPost reported.
But when the video pans out, a conjoining wall to the left reveals another half of the mural — a literal dumpster fire. We then see from the panned out shot in the video that the “snowflakes” landing in that kid’s moth are actually pieces of flying, burning garbage.
A drone zooms into the sky and footage from it shows the town beyond the garage and its steelworks and industrial chimneys spewing out smoke into the atmosphere.
