The author behind a 2011 essay entitled, “How to Murder Your Husband,” has been arrested on charges of actually murdering her husband.
The preliminary charge of domestic violence murder has been leveled after Nancy Crampton Brophy’s husband was shot and killed on June 2 in a Portland suburb.
Brophy, 68, who writes romance novels, was married to Daniel Brophy for 27 years. The chef was found dead at the nearby culinary school where he worked.
In “How to Murder Your Husband,” Crampton Brophy wrote, “As a romantic suspense writer, I spend a lot of time thinking about murder and, consequently, about police procedure.” She later added about murder in the essay, “every one of us have it in him/her when pushed far enough.”
