Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever don an NFL jersey. And at the ripe age of 40, he says he’s in the best shape of his life.

Talking to reporters at a practice in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, reports CBS Boston, Brady said, “I’m never sore; I can practice every day. I could practice twice a day if they would let us do that.” He was answering a reporter’s question about his recovery time at his current age versus his younger years.

Brady went on to say, “It’s a lot easier now for me than it’s ever been. I feel like my routine’s better than it’s ever been. When you’re younger, you don’t know what to do. After 17 years, going into my 18th year, I know how to prepare.”

Clearly, Brady has been playing some of the best football of his career, winning his record fifth Super Bowl championship earlier this year (he was rumored to have played with a concussion for a stretch of last season). Then, of course, is that longevity-enhancing lifestyle, which includes his strict diet.
