Colbert Pre-Tapes Celebratory World Series Announcements for Cubs and Indians

With the late night talk shows taping much earlier than the 1:10 a.m. end to Game 7 of the Cubs-Indians World Series—which saw Chicago win in dramatic fashion—shows like The Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon all missed the “Cubs win!” boat. Jimmy Kimmel Live did check in with “the crying Cubs fan” during his taping, but much too early in the ballgame to join in in the postgame fun.

Stephen Colbert, on the other hand, got it right—in “Dewey Defeats Truman” fashion. Below, watch his two celebratory announcements, one for the Indians and one for the Cubs. (It’s worth watching both.)
