Blind USC Football Player Snapped the Ball for Gaming-Winning Extra Point
Jake Olson, who lost his sight at 12, snapped the ball on the final extra point.

Jake Olson, the long-snapper for the University of Southern California’s football team, help the Trojans score the game-winning extra point against Western Michigan in a 49-31 victory in their season opener Saturday.
Olson, who lost eyesight at age 12 because of a cancer called retinoblastoma, has practiced two years with the Trojans and it was the first time he took the field in a regular season game.
“It’s muscle memory — it’s not like magic,” Olson told the New York Times. “It’s not like, ‘I hope this goes right.’ If you do it correctly, it will go right.”
