When it comes to shopping — and yes, all men must eventually go shopping — it helps to have a store that speaks to a man’s peccadilloes.
Little bit of leather. Little bit of drink. No husband chair.
Good thing there’s a formula for that, as devised by the kindly gentledudes at Seven Points, now open in Downtown.
Goes like this:
1. Find a building with a cool history, high ceilings and exposed brick.
The former Brunswick Billiards factory. Enter through roll-up doors into a room with vaulted ceilings pressed in dark tin, exposed brick and heavy wooden doors. Vintage surfboards adorn the walls.
2. Offer refreshments.
Hibiki Whisky on hand, and a coffee bar that goes full service next month.
3. Sell damn handsome wares.
Seven Points is the retail concern of Park Showroom, a wholesaler repping Zanerobe, Jachs, Athletic Recon, Jacob Davis, M. Cohen, Pocket Squares, Don Mason … the list goes on.
4. And have a dog.
Her name is Charley.
These guys specialize in the sort of raffish looks that helps the L.A. man maintain his casual youth.
Some notables for these chilly nights, from left to right:
Coming this December, the back area will be used for parties.
So get down there. And join their mailing list, man.
