Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today:  a collaboration celebrating the 25th anniversary of Happy Gilmore, Swatch watches inspired by NASA spacesuits and non-alchoholic sparkling tonic.

Extra Butter

Extra Butter x Adidas Golf x Happy Gilmore

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the classic Adam Sandler film Happy Gilmore, New York City streetwear brand Extra Butter teamed up with Adidas on a limited-edition collection of pieces paying tribute to the 1996 golf flick. From hats and sweats to shorts and slides, the pieces in the collection are designed to embody the personality of each of the film’s three main characters Chubbs Peterson, Shooter McGavin and Happy Gilmore. The collection dropped Friday, and it’s selling faster than Gilmore’s opening drives off the tee in the movie.

Db

Db The Duplex

The Scandinavian brand formerly known as Douchebag (now just Db) has released what they’ve deemed “the next evolution of the rugged duffel,” The Duplex. Hoping to work around the pitfalls of adventure duffels like how hard they are to carry and their lack of organization, Db designed The Duplex with a hemispheric design, split feature and organized compartments, so you can carry and find what you’re looking for with ease.

Swatch

Swatch x NASA Space Collection

Expanding upon its previous collaboration with NASA Space Station, Swatch has added three XL watches to the collection — the Extravehicular, the Launch and the Spacesuit. Inspired by various spacesuits astronauts wear, the watches range from patriotic red, white and blue iterations (in homage to the iconic white spacesuit) to bold orange numbers that match the Advanced Crew Escape Suit, with each watch featuring a bioceramic case and bio-sourced plastic glass.

Greats

Greats The Classon Utility Slide

After sliding into the slipper category during the colder months, sneaker brand Greats is here to offer a few new options for those still seeking the perfect summer footwear. The Classon name is given to two sets of slides and two sets of sandals, available in all-black or a mix of black and cargo green. With velcro and buckles, these are sturdier than your standard flops but still give you room to breathe.

Hamilton

Hamilton Khaki Field

Some say the bronze watches of recent years are just a trend, others say the material has placed permanent roots in the industry (the new unlimited Tudor Black Bay does add credence to the latter), but until now we’ve respected anyone’s personal decision to abstain. Then this week, Hamilton unveiled their first-ever bronze case on — what else? — their timeless Khaki Field Mechanical. Is there a more perfect pairing or entrypoint into the category? We can’t think of one. If you have yet to be sold on bronze, give this a gander.

Fever-Tree

Fever-Tree Distillers Cola

Put down the Jack and Coke. This new cola is crafted with  Caribbean kola nuts, Tahitian limes from Mexico, and a selection of distilled botanicals and spices (like Jamaican pimento berries and Madagascan vanilla). And it was specifically designed to mix with booze — it says rum and whiskey on the label, but feel free to try it with tequila or any other spirit of choice. Elevated, decidedly not too sweet and very “clean” tasting (no corn syrup or artificial sweeteners here).

PUMA

PUMA x White Castle

As part of a broader collaboration with a number of brands in honor of its 100th anniversary, White Castle had enlisted the help of the sneakersmiths over at PUMA to create a pair of suede kicks decked out in the slider chain’s familiar blue-and-white color palette and also featuring images of the famous burger castle we all know and love.

Stadium Goods

Stadium Goods x Chaco Chillo Slides

Just in time for slides season, Stadium Goods has teamed up with Chaco to reimagine the latter’s Chillos sandals. Keeping the contoured LUVSEAT arch-support and EVA midsole and outsole that makes the pair so comfortable, the “Bits & Bobs” slides are outfitted with multicolored adjustable nylon straps (the colors inspired by classic sneaker designs), printed with black and white Stadium Goods branding. Consider them the perfect sandals for all the sneakerheads out there.

Hiyo

hiyo Sparkling Social Tonic

Whether booze just ain’t your thing in general or you’re just looking for a nice alternative to throw into the mix every now and again, it’s nice to see some folks out there providing a 0% ABV substitute outside of your typical sugary mocktail — new non-alcoholic-bevvie-on-the-block hiyo boasts a suite of “organic adaptogens, natural nootropics, and functional botanicals”  with the goal of a more natural mood lift. A recent testing session yielded positive results — after a couple cans we found it provides a pleasant, low-key floaty buzz that’s pretty darn enjoyable and doesn’t come with a hangover attached. Not to mention the fact that all three flavors (peach mango, blackberry lemon and watermelon lime) are ’nuff tasty and each can only has 25 calories. Cheers to that.

Nixon

Nixon Light-Wave Watch

Our anti-single-use-plastic bonafides are well-established, a stance we feel pretty comfortable with considering a single plastic bag lasts TWENTY TWO MILLION TIMES longer than the time it’s typically used for. Thus we’re very here for Nixon’s efforts on the recycled ocean plastics front, most recently evidenced with their new Light Wave sport watch that features both case and band made from #tide reclaimed ocean plastics (two bottles for every watch) as well as a state-of-the-art solar panel embedded in the dial that eliminates the need for disposable batteries. Also bears noting that it’s comfy, lightweight and super durable for your various outdoor pursuits to enjoy the earth you’re helping to save.
