Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: Parachute’s men’s linen loungewear collection, a pocket-sized one hitter from Session and an official Levi’s x Grateful Dead collaboration.
BTS X Helinox Camp Collection
Known for its award-winning lineup of portable, lightweight furniture and accessories, Helinox is no stranger to collaborations. The Korean brand has partnered with Filson, Pendleton, Danner and Ford among others, but their most recent collab spotlights another well-known Korean name, BTS. The latest camping collection features furniture, totes and even a tent in the K-pop band’s signature purple, with embossed accents that pay tribute to music and outdoor icons. Shop the collection to upgrade your outdoor equipment for the sake of style and substance.
Session One Hitter
This sleek, pocket-sized borosilicate glass from Session, the brand making simple, sophisticated and modern accessories for your smoke sessions, was designed for “tiny tokes,” solo smokes or whenever you need a quick puff.
J.Crew Nordic Waterproof Hiker Boots
Even if you don’t consider yourself much of a hiker, these retro-inspired Nordic Waterproof Hiker Boots from J.Crew are too good to pass up, especially with fall around the corner. Made from suede and nylon uppers, the boots are outfitted with Vibram® Rollingait System outsoles, so if you do plan to do some actual hiking in them they’ll be fully equipped for the job, although we won’t fault you if you wear them just to fulfill your GORPcore fantasies. Available in three colorways, from neutral olive and khaki to a more ‘90s inspired purple and teal combination, the boots are primed for the trails and beyond.
Status Audio Core ANC
We’ve loved Status Audio for years — they’re crafting premium audio gear at damn near Walmart prices. Next up for the NYC brand is a pair of over-ear, active noise-canceling headphones, available in three colors and for the low price of $99. Featuring vegan leather earpads, tactile touch controls and up to 30 hours of listening time, these are a very slight performance downgrade from the brand’s Flagship release, but 50% off in cost and exponentially better looking.
Taylor Stitch The Jack Corduroy Shirt
Crafted from a soft organic cotton that’s built to last, Taylor Stitch’s new everyday corduroy button-down is ready to become your signature fall staple. You can shop the shirt in two flattering, seasonally appropriate colors: Moss and Khaki. But act fast because this is a small batch, limited run item.
OffLimits Birthday Pack
OffLimits, the whimsical cereal brand bringing you fun and flavorful cereal but with plant-based, gluten-free ingredients, is turning a year old. To celebrate its 1st b-day, the brand is launching two new flavors: Spark and Flex. You can shop OffLimit’s new Birthday Pack which is includes all four cereal boxes plus cereal glitter — whatever that is!
Todd Snyder x New Balance Farmers Market Collection
Do we wish this summery Todd Snyder collab with New Balance, taking inspiration from NYC’s farmers markets, had debuted back in, say, May? Of course. With three colorful takes on the NB327 sneaker (wheat, pineapple and pomegranate) and complementary seersucker “Market Coat” (which the brand describes as the happy medium between a chore coat and blazer), we could have been filling our tote bags with fresh produce in style for months now. But what’s done is done. All there is to do is pick up one of each and wear them as much as possible while the weather allows.
Vollebak Race to Zero Running Gear
So far, Vollebak has been focused on protecting its customers from the elements, with innovative outerwear made of hardwearing materials you won’t find elsewhere, like Dyneema, graphene and copper. With Race to Zero, they’re going in the opposite direction: designing what they call the “lightest running system in the world.” They’re starting with an ultralight T-shirt and shorts, but a jacket and puffer are coming soon.
Taylor Stitch x Atelier and Repairs
When faced with an excess of essential styles (including The Jack in Everyday Oxford and The Chino) Taylor Stitch turned to Maurizio Donadiof Atelier & Repairs (who specialize in re-engineering and re-designing reclaimed garments and textiles) to help breathe new life into the surplus pieces. The result are the same Taylor Stitch silhouettes you know and love, reworked to feature archival fabrics of paisley and camouflage, among others, offering a slight twist on the the already beloved classics and all while keeping in line with the brand’s comment to reducing waste as part of their Responsibility Initiative.
Parachute Men’s Linen Loungewear
After seeing success with its linen loungesets launched this past spring, Parachute has just launched a new men’s linen loungewear collection featuring a top and pant both crafted from pure linen so soft you’ll never wanna take them off.
NYCFC x STAPLE
World-renowned streetwear brand Staple has partnered with New York City FC on a new capsule collection, making it the biggest streetwear apparel collaboration for Major League Soccer thus far. The five-piece collection features a white short-sleeve tee, black varsity-style long-sleeve tee, grey hoodie, dual-sided woven soccer scarf and Pintrill pin. The overal collection pays homage to the history of the NYC Subway signage vernacular, using NYCFC’s bold navy blue, sky blue and orange colors to create minimalist, geometric designs reminiscent of Massimo Vignelli’s redesigned NYC Subway Map.
Levi’s x Grateful Dead Collection
Today the Grateful Dead is known as much for their music as their merch, both official and bootleg. If you’re a fan but not interested in scouring Instagram accounts for the right T-shirt, Levi’s just dropped an official collaboration with the band featuring tees, denim jackets, sweatshirts, bucket hats and more. Don’t want the same Dead gear as everyone else? Their selection of 13 patches can help there.
