It may be a ways out, but eventually we’ll all be in self-driving cars, texting until our little emoji hearts are content.

Until then, you’ll wanna check out Chris, a new AI device that syncs your phone and car so that you don’t need to fumble for messages, new tunes or directions.

Billed as a “co-driver,” Chris responds to voice and simple hand gestures so you can focus on the road and not killing people. Which is nice.

As of now, it pairs with both Android and Apple as well as Spotify and a host of other apps. It reads messages to you, allowing you to respond without taking your hands off of the wheel or eyes off of the road. But what makes Chris interesting is its AI, making it aware of the current road conditions. Meaning the device can supposedly hold off on alerts if there’s traffic or distractions on the road.

Head on over to Chris for pre-order details.
