Former President Obama isn’t ready to leave Washington.

Barack and Michelle Obama purchased the tony home that they had been renting in the Kalorama suburb of D.C. since January, The Washington Post reported.

The eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bath mansion, in the same neighborhood where Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and first daughter Ivanka Trump also have homes, was closed for $8.1 million on Wednesday.

The Obamas previously said they planned to remain in the nation’s capital at least until their youngest daughter, Sasha, finishes high school. But they will also clearly be a presence in the Beltway for Democrats still looking for leadership figures to help navigate the Trump era.

“Given that President and Mrs. Obama will be in Washington for at least another two and a half years, it made sense for them to buy a home rather than continuing to rent property,” spokesman Kevin Lewis said in a statement.
