Is This the Toughest Down Jacket in the World?

Cut from Dyneema, the V Series promises rugged versatility

If you’ve already splurged and gotten yourself some ultra-rugged Dyneema jeans and a super-tough Dyneema backpack, you now have the chance to complete the outfit.

Designed by Sweden-based Haglöfs, the V Series Down Jacket is made from windproof yet breathable Dyneema fiber and was designed to be “the toughest down jacket in the world.”

The jacket’s shell is made from a Dyneema composite fabric (which is 15% Dyneema, 22% polyester, 44% polypropylene and 19% other fiber) that’s lightweight and strong in addition to being waterproof and its interior is insulated with a goose down blend that’s 90% down and 10% feathers.

It’s hard to put a price on toughness, but Haglöfs has managed, pricing the jacket at $1,190.

Unfortunately, Haglöfs only ships to Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and the UK at this time, but here’s to hoping it makes its way stateside soon.
