Carli Lloyd is seriously kicking around the idea of attempting to make an NFL roster in 2020.

The World Cup-winning USWNT star told Fox Sports she is “seriously considering” taking a shot at the NFL next year after she puts in enough training.

“I am having discussions with my husband and James about the reality of playing in the NFL,” Lloyd said. “They both feel that I could do it and should consider it. So I’m seriously considering it, as it’s a challenge.”

Her trainer James Galanis told ESPN that this year will be too soon for Lloyd to try out for an NFL team but that she will be training for 2020.

“If she’s going to do this, she’ll do it — she’ll train in the offseason, she’ll get herself ready so that she just doesn’t do it for the sake of doing it,” Galanis said. “If she’s going to do it, she’s going to do it so that she can be a success.”

All of the attention comes after Lloyd nailed a 55-yard field goal at a joint practice between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens and a video of the epic kick went viral. Afterward, several NFL teams got in touch with Lloyd.

Before this latest news came out, Galanis said that the 37-year-old “is perfectly made out for a job like that.”

“She loves the pressure. She’s got one of the hardest kicks in the world when it comes to women,” he said. “She is great at long-range balls — she displayed that by scoring a goal from just past the halfway line in a World Cup final — and she is definitely in tune with the mechanics. She would be an ideal candidate.”

Lloyd is a two-time FIFA Player of the Year and has a pair of World Cup championships as well as two Olympic gold medals.
