Suit Fittings and Whiskey

A well-fitted suit, much like a fine glass of whiskey, inspires confidence in a man.

Get both at “Suit and Tie One On”, a new event series at Billy Reid’s southern-style mansion on Bond Street, featuring gratis cocktails by The Wren.

Every Thursday in March from 6-8pm, the staff at Billy Reid — who was named 2010 GQ “Best Menswear Designer in America” — will pair made-to-measure fittings with enough fine spirits to make you question your Yankee loyalties.

Billy Reid’s notoriously boisterous staff will assist with fabric and cut selection, while The Wren’s neighborly barmen will pour cocktails like the Great Jones (Famous Grouse Scotch, maple syrup, bitters) and a Cruzan Rum and Chinotto Soda concoction called the Grown Up Rum and Coke.

Billy Reid’s style has been billed as “southern gentleman with a downtown twist”, so his suits are as fit for a night on the town as they are a day at the office. Your duds will be crafted from scratch by suitmaking patriarch Rocco Ciccarelli, who has been cutting fabric in New York since the reign of Ed Koch.

In addition, mention InsideHook and enjoy 20% off on the just-in spring collection — or just relax and enjoy the Johnny Cash.

If only the rest of New York were this downright hospitable.
