Sustainable packaging is one improved shopping experience from BUHO

While we’d all love to shop from brands that share our personal values, that takes a lot of homework.

Making the process a little easier: BUHO (“owl” in Spanish) is a just-launched e-commerce platform for clothing and home goods specifically curated for the betterment of the world.

It’s a shoppable collection of more than 60 socially conscious and B Corp-certified brands, sortable by the cause that’s important to you (locally made, gender equality, sustainable, vegan, etc.)

“We spend a lot of time digging to find the right mix of brands that can appeal to a wide range of customers,” as founder Maria Casey tells us. “One of my core goals was to make it as easy to buy sustainable and ethical clothing as it is to buy a t-shirt from H&M.”

So this is stuff you’d actually wear. Brands like CorridorNYC, Taylor Stitch, Raleigh Denim, TOMS and more, all clothiers that we’ve recommended before.

All the items are shipped in 100% compostable packaging, utilizing carbon neutral shipping partners. Even the more fragile items are wrapped in a cornstarch padding that disintegrates in water.

Bonus: Besides sending you stuff, they’ll also take your unwanted clothing back via a pre-paid return label that comes with every order; your donated items are then distributed to charities, while you earn a $10 credit on your next purchase over $50.
