If you’ve been looking for a time to revisit Michael Jordan’s legacy in basketball, right about now is a great time for it. The ESPN documentary The Last Dance offers a comprehensive look at Jordan’s final championship with the Chicago Bulls — but it’s not the only place that Jordan fans can turn to explore his impact on sports and popular culture as a whole.
On Friday, online shopping site eBay launched a dedicated hub for all things Jordan-related. As befits someone whose influence can be seen everywhere from basketball courts to streetwear sites, this hub covers a lot of territory in terms of what’s offered. If you’d like to pick up a pair of sneakers, a Jordan-themed Funko Pop and a a #23 1996 NBA All-Star jersey all in one place — well, look no further. Autographed and authenticated jerseys are also in the mix.
In addition, eBay is running a weekly event through May 15 to commemorate 35 years of Air Jordans. Announcements of each week’s sneaker drop will take place at 9am PST via eBay’s social media presence.
Up next, on April 24, will be a restock of the Air Jordan 1 Court Purples 2.0, for $170. That will be followed by a pre-release of the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red, for $200, on May 1 and a restock of of the Air Jordan 3 UNC, for $190, on May 8. A pre-release of the Air Jordan 6 DMPs, now sold out, kicked off the event on April 17.
In recent years, eBay has become a destination for Jordan-related memorabilia — on average, the site has sold 146 pieces of Jordan-related memorabilia every hour for the last 5 years. Since the announcement of The Last Dance, interest in items relating to Jordan have increased substantially. That comes as little surprise: there are few figures who loom so large over American sports history as Jordan, after all.
