As part of this unusual offseason, the Cleveland Browns are incorporating a new way to connect with their fans. The team will let two fans help script the first 15 offensive plays of their 2020 preseason, with the fans being selected by an auction and a raffle.
The winning fans will not only get to work with new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt to craft the plays, but they will also be flown out to a team dinner and meeting before the game. They will then be a part of the pre-game tunnel run and will have sideline passes to the game.
According to ESPN, Stefanski said in a statement that this is all about “giving back” to the community during these trying times:
With the global pandemic, it’s really important we step up when there are others in need. Just look around at the frontline workers, the health care workers. They’re stepping up right now, they’re working tirelessly, they’re working courageously and it’s really inspired our organization to join the All In Challenge.
The effort is part of the All In Challenge, a sports-led charity that looks to provide food to those in need, including kids, the elderly, and frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic. To date, the All In Challenge has raised upwards of $45 million for relief.
