Please don't do this while flying

Let’s say that you’re flying during the pandemic and you really, really don’t like wearing a mask. You have a few options open to you. You could deal with it, recognizing that it’s currently a legal requirement. You could also opt not to travel by plane and wait for a point in the future when those regulations are no longer necessary. Both of these options are deeply preferable to what one man is currently accused of doing, for which he now faces up to 20 years in prison.

The Guardian has more details on the case of an Irishman who, while traveling on a Delta flight from Dublin to New York, decided to engage in virtually every toxic behavior chronicled during the age of pandemic travel.

Did he refuse to wear a mask? Sure did. Did he get rowdy with the flight crew? Yes indeed. Did he hit someone? He did.

To make matters worse, he also allegedly removed his pants and underwear and mooned various members of the flight crew, as well as his fellow passengers. Because nothing says “the charm of international travel” like potentially seeing some angry guy’s crotch as he throws a tantrum miles above the surface of the planet.

Being frustrated while traveling is understandable. Having a meltdown like this, though, is not.
