For fans of a host of beloved television shows, the last few months have offered an opportunity to see reunions few ever expected. There was a new episode of Parks and Recreation produced remotely, for instance.  The cast of Community, including Donald Glover, got back together for a table read for one of the show’s funniest episodes. As an added bonus, special guest Pedro Pascal broke down laughing numerous times over the course of the episode.

And now, another beloved television series is getting a reunion that no one saw coming. In this case, it’s Mr. Belvedere, the 1980s sitcom in which an English butler came to the United States to work for a Pittsburgh family. The cast included noted sports commentator Bob Uecker, in this case playing a fictional sportscaster. Leon Redbone sang the theme song.

The Milwaukee Record reports that the bulk of the show’s cast will reunite on Zoom for a look back at the show’s heyday. Uecker, Rob Stone, Tracy Tofte Wells, Brice Beckham and Ilene Graff will share stories of making the series and will answer questions from fans. Sadly, this is not a complete reunion of the cast: Christopher Hewett, who played the title character in the show, died in 2001 at the age of 80.

The cast reunion is set to take place on Friday, May 29th. For the Mr. Belvedere devotees out there, it’s an unexpected holiday at the end of May.
