After making a public announcement on social media that he would not be returning to the New England Patriots, Tom Brady has reportedly agreed to continue his NFL career as the next quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady, who was never really given an honest offer from the Patriots, will reportedly sign with the Bucs once he is officially able to on March 18. Brady is said to have agreed to a roughly $30 million-per-year deal with the team.

In two decades with the Patriots, Brady made it to nine Super Bowls, winning six. Turning 43 in August, Brady will now try to win his seventh ring as a member of the Bucs.

He’ll certainly have some weapons to do it, as Tampa Bay is stocked at wide receiver, with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Breshad Perriman all on the roster.

As the Boston Herald pointed out earlier this week, Brady also has some non-football-related reasons to go to Tampa. “Brothers Bryan, Edward and Joel Glazer also happen to own Manchester United, one of the richest and widely recognized soccer teams in the world,” according to the Herald. “If Brady has global aspirations for TB12, the Glazers can help him to make that happen. A link to Manchester United can only help all of Brady’s off-field earning potential and global star status, if those factors are important to him.”
