Ravens Among the Most Interesting Stories of NFL Draft
Sports Illustrated rates the teams that are most intriguing after draft.
It will be years before experts can truly analyze how teams fared during this weekend’s NFL Draft, but it isn’t too early to figure out which teams logged the most interesting draft classes.
As far as Sports Illustrated is concerned, the Ravens scored in the bottom of the first round by trading up to land Louisville QB Lamar Jackson, one of the more electrifying players in the draft. Jackson, who fell far below where he was expected to be picked, may be the face of the franchise as soon as 2019, by which time incumbent QB Joe Flacco can be cut easily. But GM Ozzie Newsome’s final draft before retirement didn’t end there. In the third round, the team landed offensive tackle Orlando Brown, son of a former Raven star.
Other teams also had drafts to remember — even if some of them may be remembered for the wrong reasons. The Giants, Raiders, Jaguars and Titans also made the S.I. list of most interesting storylines.
