The Cleveland Browns have confirmed the injury that knocked Odell Beckham Jr. out of yesterday’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals was a torn ACL and announced the star wide receiver will likely miss the rest of the 2020 season.

Beckham, who finishes the season with 23 catches for 319 yards and three touchdowns, was injured trying to make a tackle after an underthrown Baker Mayfield pass was picked off by Darius Phillips in the first quarter.

“I’m probably going to beat myself up about that one for a long time,” Mayfield said of throwing the interception that resulted in Beckham’s injury. “He’s a guy who fights for this team, and in doing that, he got hurt … it sucks.”

It’s a devastating injury for Beckham and will mean that he will have missed 39 out of a possible 64 games over the last four seasons due to injury after only missing three games during his first three NFL seasons.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Beckham will be replaced by some combination of Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Harrison Bryant and Donovan Peoples-Jones, who caught the game-winning touchdown from Mayfield with 15 seconds remaining in Sunday’s 37-34 win.

Peoples-Jones, a sixth-round pick out of Michigan, was inactive for the first three weeks of the season.
