Odell Beckham Won’t Get on Field for Giants Without Contract Extension

The news comes a day after New York owner John Mara said no player is "untouchable" in a trade.

Once viewed as a franchise cornerstone, Odell Beckham’s future with the New York Giants seems far from certain.

A few weeks after a viral video of the star wide receiver with an Instagram model broke the Internet, it’s being reported that Beckham, “will not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to with the Giants or any team.”

That news, courtesy of Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, comes a day after Giants owner John Mara said that no player is “untouchable” in a trade.

“I can’t answer that one way or the other,” Mara said when asked about Beckham’s status with the team. “I mean we’re certainly not shopping him if that’s what you’re asking (laughs). But when you’re coming off a season where you’re 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn’t say anyone’s untouchable.”

Beckham’s 2017 season ended in Week 5 when he fractured his ankle. He is under contract to play for $8.45 million in 2018.

If that will be in New York for the Giants remains to be seen.
