Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan is interested in taking on the President’s Chief of Staff job, Fortune reports.

Morgan penned an open letter this week in the Daily Mail formally asking for the job, asserting that he’s the one person “whose reputation can’t be tarnished” by taking on the role, and called back to when he won Trump’s first Celebrity Apprentice a decade ago.

“You told me in the live NBC finale: ‘Piers, you’re a vicious guy. I’ve seen it. You’re tough. You’re smart. You’re probably brilliant, I’m not sure. You’re certainly not diplomatic. But you did an amazing job and you beat the hell out of everybody – you’re my Celebrity Apprentice.’

“Let’s be honest, what more could you possibly want from your Chief of Staff? You could have been talking about yourself!” Morgan wrote.

He continued, saying: “Let’s also be honest about something else: nobody else is exactly storming the ramparts of the White House demanding you hire them for the toughest job in world politics.”

His cohosts aren’t happy, though. The Mirror reports that Susanna Reid is “insulted” because Morgan reportedly is “pretending to be ill” so he can travel to Washington for an interview.
