There can never be enough Lord of the Rings. At least that’s what Amazon is betting on. The online retailer just paid a quarter-billion dollars to outbid Netflix in buying a new Lord of the Ring series. Amazon also went ahead and committed to a five-season run of the show, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. The Hollywood Reporter writes that not only is this the most expensive TV series ever, but that Amazon has committed to being production by 2020. According to ” the terms of the pact.
