The Captain Cook Bronze from Rado was a horological highlight of 2020. It made waves in all the watch blogs, our resident expert picked it as one of his favorites, and it features a number of covetable elements: it’s a diver with a bronze case, automatic movement, throwback styling and an accessible price point. And it’s simply a striking presence on the wrist.

If you don’t have a Rado in your collection, 2021 is the year to remedy that. More specifically, today, the 24th of March, is the day, as the deep blue version of the Captain Cook Bronze, with a blue leather strap, is currently a whopping 30% off at Nordstrom, which is a discount of just about $800.

Nordstrom currently has the full price listed as $2,410, but as Rado’s own website attests, this stellar timepiece usually sells for $2,600, so this is an even better deal than the retailer is letting on. We can’t say how long this deal will last as Nordstrom has been known to offer flash discounts on watches before, so if you’re looking for a unique watch that will set you apart from the pack once we can finally mingle again, this is it — at a price that can just about be covered by a stimulus check.
