Project Panther Is Basically Extreme Makeover: Lamborghini Huracán Edition
Including a Nürburgring-record-smashing V10 under the hood
If you want to build an exceptional home, start with a good foundation.
Apparently former Lotus boss Dany Bahar employs a similar strategy when constructing luxury rides for his new venture, Italy-based bespoke coachbuilding company ARES Design.
ARES, which previously used the chassis of a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG as the foundation of their X-Raid G-Wagon, enlisted the services of a Lamborghini Huracán to serve as the base of the firm’s new build, the hair-raising Project Panter.
Inspired by elements from the retro-looking De Tomaso Pantera, the aerodynamic Project Panther is being designed from its pop-up headlights up to be a “future classic” by ARES’ new Bespoke Creations in-house design team.
It’s pretty as well as powerful: the Panther’s bespoke body does ride with the 601-HP 5.2-liter V10 that the Huracán used to smash the Nürburgring production car lap record under its hood.

Set to be delivered to customers in the second half of 2018, Bahar says the car is the first of many surprises ARES plans to deliver in the coming months from their new factory in Modena.
“This factory and Project Panther give a clear sign of our intent to design, engineer and produce the world’s most stunning bespoke and coach-built cars,” Bahar said in a press release. “Project Panther feels right now like our ‘halo car,’ but I can guarantee there is much more to come in 2018.”
Well Mr. Bahar, keep raising it.
